Who says you can't create bakery-style treats at home? With a few simple hacks using a cake mix, you can whip up the most delightful vanilla cupcakes that taste like they came straight from a fancy bakery. I'm all about finding easy ways to make delicious foods, and these ultimate cupcakes are a perfect example of just that.


Bakery Style Vanilla Cupcakes


Ingredients:

Cupcakes:

  • 1 box of Duncan Hines® or Pillsbury® vanilla cake mix

  • 1 3.3 or 3.4 oz box of Jell-O® Instant pudding in vanilla or white chocolate flavor

  • 1 and 1/3 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting:

  • 4 sticks or 2 cups of room temperature unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp of clear vanilla flavoring

  • Optional: 1 tsp of almond extract

  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

  • 2 lb bag of powdered sugar


Directions:


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, instant pudding mix, milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

  3. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  5. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

For the frosting:

  1. In a separate bowl, beat the room temperature butter until creamy.

  2. Add in the clear vanilla flavoring, almond extract (if using), heavy cream, and gradually mix in the powdered sugar until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.

  3. Once the cupcakes have cooled, pipe or spread the frosting on top of each cupcake.
