Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box of red velvet cake mix

  • 1 (3.3 oz) box of instant chocolate pudding

  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter

  • 1⅓ cups milk

  • 4 large eggs

For the Frosting:

  • 1 (32 oz) container of heavy cream

  • 1 (3.4 oz) box of instant cheesecake pudding

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, instant chocolate pudding, melted butter, milk, and eggs. Mix until all ingredients are well combined and the batter is smooth.

  2. Bake the Cakes: Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake according to the box directions, usually around 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Once baked, let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  3. Make the Frosting: In a separate bowl, combine the heavy cream and instant cheesecake pudding mix. Using an electric mixer, whip the mixture on medium speed until soft peaks form. Add the vanilla extract and powdered sugar, then continue to whip on high until the frosting is thick and fluffy.

  4. Assemble the Cake: Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of the frosting on top. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.

  5. Serve and Enjoy: Slice, serve, and watch your guests indulge in this delightful Red Velvet Cake. It’s perfect for holiday gatherings, birthday celebrations, or any special occasion!

Happy baking, and enjoy the compliments that come your way with this festive treat!
