Quick and easy Lasagna


Ingredients:


  • 1.5 lb ground beef or ground turkey

  • Garlic powder

  • Onion powder

  • Black pepper

  • Cajun seasoning

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 4 tbsp minced garlic

  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce

  • 45 oz jar of your favorite pasta sauce

  • 32 oz container of Ricotta cheese

  • 8 oz Parmesan cheese

  • 1 egg

  • Italian seasoning

  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese

  • 8 oz white cheddar cheese

  • 8 oz Italian cheese mix

  • 1 box oven-ready lasagna noodles


Directions:


  1. Brown the ground beef or turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cajun seasoning to taste. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.

  2. Add the canned tomato sauce and your chosen pasta sauce to the skillet. Stir well, season to taste, and let it simmer while you prepare the cheese mixture.

  3. In a bowl, combine the Ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, 2 tbsp of minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and the egg. Mix until well combined.

  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  5. To layer the lasagna, start by spreading a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish.

  6. Place a layer of oven-ready lasagna noodles over the sauce, ensuring they slightly overlap.

  7. Add another layer of the meat sauce, followed by a layer of the mixed cheeses.

  8. Continue layering with noodles, sauce, and cheese, finishing with a generous layer of the cheese mixture on top.

  9. Sprinkle Italian herbs and spices over the cheese layer for extra flavor.

  10. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour.

  11. Remove the foil and broil the lasagna for a few minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

  12. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Pair the lasagna with a fresh salad and garlic bread for a complete meal.
