Ultimate Baked Ziti Recipe: A Comforting Classic!


Ingredients:


·       1 box of ziti or rigatoni pasta

·       1 lb ground turkey

·       1 lb sweet Italian turkey sausage

·       1 green bell pepper diced

·       1 yellow bell pepper diced

·       Half of a sweet onion diced

·       Minced Garlic

·       15 oz can of tomato sauce

·       24 oz jar of tomato sauce

·       24 oz of whole milk ricotta cheese

·       8 oz shredded mozzarella

·       8 oz shredded Italian cheese mix (provolone, parmesan, etc;)

·       4 oz shredded mild cheddar

·       Garlic powder

·       Onion Powder

·       Italian herb seasoning

·       Sazon Complete

·       Crushed red pepper

·       Black pepper

·       Garlic Paste

·       Italian herb paste or fresh herbs

Directions:


  1. In a large pot, cook the ground turkey and Italian sausage over medium heat.

  2. Add the diced green bell pepper, diced yellow bell pepper, diced sweet onion, and minced garlic to the pot.

  3. Stir in garlic paste, Italian herb paste or fresh herbs, and season with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herb seasoning, Sazon Complete, crushed red pepper, and black pepper to taste.

  4. Pour in the can of tomato sauce and the jar of preferred tomato sauce, stirring to combine all ingredients.

  5. Mix in the whole milk ricotta cheese and cooked ziti pasta until well incorporated.

  6. Spread half of the mixture evenly in a baking dish and sprinkle with a layer of shredded mozzarella, shredded Italian cheese mix, and shredded mild cheddar.

  7. Add the remaining mixture on top and cover with the remaining shredded cheeses.

  8. Loosely cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Enjoy your delicious baked ziti straight from the oven, bubbling with cheesy goodness and comforting flavors!
